What TopShot does

TopShot is match-day management and live scoring software for shooting clubs — shoots and squadding, a real shot timer, configurable scoring, RSVPs, roles for your staff, and a mobile app, all in one place. Below is what's actually in the product today.

Shoots & squadding

Create a shoot with a date, location and start time, add your stages, and share one RSVP link with your members. Once you know who's coming, squad everyone into groups with one tap and rotate groups through stages on match day. A live shoot-day board shows where every group is up to.

Shot timer with mic shot detection

The built-in shot timer isn't a stopwatch — it's a real electronic timer. It plays a loud start beep (with an optional random 1–4 second delay), then listens on the device's microphone for gunshots and records the elapsed time of each one.

Per-club scoring zones

Every club starts with sensible defaults — Alpha, Charlie, Delta, Steel, Penalty and Miss — but none of it is fixed. A club Manager or Master can rename any zone, change its point value, add new zones, reorder them, or retire ones the club doesn't use, from Club Settings. Renaming a zone never breaks past results, because scores are recorded against the zone's underlying key, not its label — so your history stays intact even after you change how a zone reads on screen.

RSVPs with named guests

Members RSVP yes or no to a shoot from a single shared link, and can bring guests along by name — not just a headcount. Named guests get squadded and scored alongside members, so visitors and non-member shooters show up properly on the day's groups and results.

Roles for your club's staff

Three roles keep club administration and match-day scoring separate:

A separate platform administrator approves new clubs; club staff and club members are otherwise distinct logins, so a member's RSVP account isn't automatically a staff login.

Offline scoring that syncs

Ranges don't always have signal, so the scoring screen works fully offline. Every score you enter is saved on the device instantly; a background sync picks it up the moment connectivity returns and merges it with the shoot, so multiple devices scoring different stages of the same shoot all end up consistent. A sync indicator shows how many entries are still waiting to go up.

Club chat

Each club gets an Announcements channel (posted by Managers and Masters, read by everyone), a general club-chat channel anyone can post in, and private one-to-one messaging between members of the same club. Push notifications fire for announcements and direct messages, so people don't have to watch the app for routine club chatter.

Mobile app

TopShot has a native Android app covering shoots, the shot timer, offline scoring and chat, with push notifications for announcements and messages. The full system is also usable from any browser on the web, including offline scoring on match day — no app install required to run a shoot.
